Description

Our annual “Making Wishes Come True” event will be Saturday, June 3, at Orvis Sandanona, Millbrook, NY. By the time of the event, I will have completed my second year of law school. While I have always seen the need first hand through our Angels of Light recipients, law school has made me realize this need on a much larger scale. Now more than ever, our Angels of Light children need your support.
Our mission is to help families with basic financial assistance such as rent, utilities, food, gas, clothing, and medical bills. Imagine being a single parent to 3 or more children. Who would watch your children when your sick child has a doctor's appointment two hours away? Who is going to feed them and help them with their homework when you have to take time off of work to bring your child to treatment, which could be as many as five times a week. How are you going to pay for these treatments, let alone pay for daily necessities. YOU can help these children and make a difference in their lives.
Here are just a few examples of the work we have accomplished over the past few months:
Sponsored a Pediatric Infusion Room at MidHudson Regional Hospital, so recipients do not have to travel farther away to receive treatment. We are also providing gift bags with pajamas, books, games, sippy cups, pacifiers, and much more.
Paid for lodging, parking, and gas for a single mom whose 11 year old daughter was undergoing brain surgery at Boston’s Children's Hospital.
Provided car repairs for a mom with multiple serious illnesses in her family.
Bought $1,000 grocery card for a family of 9, whose mother died suddenly of a heart attack.
Purchased home heating oil for several families during severe cold weather.
This past Holiday Season we delivered over 3,000 gifts to 300 children.
