Malan Syndrome Foundation is putting on an online silent auction from May 8th, 2022 through May 14th, 2022. Money raised from the silent auction will be used to fund research to help find a cure or better understand the rare genetic disorder. Malan syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that is the result of a change in the NFIX gene and is characterized by overgrowth, intellectual disability, vision and/or hearing impairment, skeletal anomalies, epilepsy and anxiety. Roughly 200 people worldwide have officially been diagnosed with the rare genetic disorder. The mission of the Malan Syndrome Foundation is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by Malan syndrome in the global community through support, outreach and research. Provide a broad network of support to families affected by Malan syndrome and help advance access to a diagnosis. Promote knowledge development, awareness and sharing of information. Explore research pathways to treatments and cures, as well as enhance understanding of Malan syndrome and related disorders.
