March Madness Tournament
Sporting Event for Union Board of Education/ Burnet Middle School PBSIS TEAMMar 28, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM
I hope this letter finds you well. Burnet Middle School is excited to announce our upcoming March Madness tournament, which is part of our school-wide positive behavior support program. This initiative plays a crucial role in fostering a positive school climate by teaching and recognizing students who exhibit exemplary social skills and behavior.
Over the years, our school has witnessed the positive impact of this program on our students. Many face challenges and yearn for simple joys that we often take for granted. The program identifies and acknowledges these students, helping them stay motivated and engaged.
The tournament is a 3-on-3 basketball event scheduled for the last week of March, after school hours. To qualify for participation in the tournament, students must maintain discipline and remain bully-free throughout the month of March. This requirement encourages our students to maintain a positive attitude during the longest stretch of the school year.
The tournament is an exciting event with a halftime show featuring prizes, music, and food. However, we are seeking donations to support our cause to make it truly special. We desperately need items that our students find reinforcing, such as gear, tickets, memorabilia, prizes, school supplies, games, electronic devices, and monetary contributions. We are looking for partners who share our vision of nurturing positive behavior within our school.
Burnet Middle School lacks the financial resources to provide incentives for students who contribute to improving the school climate and engaging in positive social interactions. Any amount that you can contribute would be immensely appreciated.
The March Madness tournament is a fantastic PBSIS event that depends on the involvement of our community, family, and friends. It directly contributes to the success of our school-wide positive behavior support program, benefiting our school and the larger community. In these uncertain times, it is more crucial than ever to support the holistic development of our students as essential members of our community, both now and in the future.
Please note that the Union Board of Education enjoys tax-exempt status and is recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our tax ID number is 22-6002350.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude in advance for your support in recognizing and empowering the young members of our Burnet Middle School community. Your generosity will make a significant difference in their lives, and we are committed to showcasing our appreciation through various channels, including our school paper, newsletters, and websites.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation and generosity. We eagerly await your gracious support and the chance to recognize your continued kindness to our community.
