This year's Gala, Mardi Gras Melodies, will include an online silent auction, an authentic Cajun buffet dinner, and musical performances by our own musicians. We will have a program with a raffle drawing, videos, and a paddle raise, before celebrating with a New Orleans-style Second Line parade. The evening will conclude with a jazz band and dancing.

We hope to net $16,000 to support our ongoing educational programs and concerts. North Valley Symphony Orchestra is a group of volunteer musicians from across our community who join together to perform exceptional orchestral music, serving over 2,800 audience members annually. Our symphony concert tickets are just $5-$10, allowing us to make high-quality, engaging orchestral music accessible to all.

We also serve the musical needs of students in elementary through high school with our three leveled youth ensembles. Young people who participate in musical ensembles develop valuable life skills such as leadership, teamwork, personal accountability, and time management. Numerous studies have shown that students who participate in music perform better than their peers in academics and standardized testing. Unfortunately, many public and private schools no longer offer instrumental music as part of their curriculum. NVSO helps fill that gap for the 75 students enrolled in our youth ensembles, and we hope to grow our programs to serve even more. One of our high school students, A, says, “I really appreciate after a long day I can come sit in NVSO and just be relaxed, have fun, and just play as much as I can.”

You can help keep the music playing! We will be hosting our annual Gala and Silent Auction fundraiser on Saturday, February 3, 2024. We are asking for your help in donating an item for the silent auction or raffle, or sponsoring a portion of the event. Auction items, along with their donors' names and logos, are displayed on the silent auction tables and on the silent auction website. Sponsorships, ranging from $500-$2500, are acknowledged with name and logo on our website, two concert programs, a Facebook post, Gala marketing, and our Gala slideshow. Higher sponsorship levels may include Gala tickets, name and logo as sponsors on the Silent Auction website, and even the opportunity to introduce a speaker at the Gala. All sponsorships also include concert tickets.
