Description

On Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 from 6:00pm – 10:00pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Center in Davis, CA the 19th Annual Dinner & Auction benefiting Marguerite Montgomery Elementary will beheld.  A social evening of drinks, snacks, dinner, silent & live auction, and interacting with friends & fellow MME supporters. At Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School (MME), the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) works so all families in our
school community, regardless of income, education level and/or primary language, have full and equitable access to
programs that enrich the school’s standard curriculum. Our PTA relies completely upon donations, grants, and
fundraising in order to bring culturally diverse, relevant, and engaging activities to each-and-every classroom, student,
and family on our campus.
MME serves the highest percentage of underprivileged and underserved children in the Davis school district.
Approximately 55% of the students at MME are identified as socio-economically disadvantaged as defined by state and
federal criteria, making us a Title I school in the state of California. This is the highest percentage among all DJUSD
elementary schools. Poverty is an environmental stressor that research has shown can negatively impact academic
achievement.
The money raised by the MME PTA pays for curriculum enrichment programs, field trips, classroom supplies, fine arts
opportunities, library books, bilingual family engagement & communications, computers, science programs, and family
fun events.
