Description

William E. Grady

CAREER & TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL

October 2023

Dear Supporter,

William E. Grady Career & Technical High School is Brooklyn's only CTE high school. In addition to their general education courses, Grady students are enrolled in one of five CTE programs: Automotive, Construction, Culinary, IT/Pre- Engineering and Nursing. CTE shops are modeled after real-life workspaces and taught by certified teachers who have worked in industry and bring a wealth of knowledge and training to the classroom. Students also learn how to apply academics in their career education classes. In short, students graduate from Grady well-prepared for both careers in industry and college.

The Parent Teacher Association strives to support our students and parents by raising funds for educational and enrichment programs. We do this because we believe it is important for students and their families to feel they are a part of the school community. This connection fosters positive academic and social outcomes. Typical events we fund include family workshops, a year-end block party, and classroom material requests from our teachers.

We need your help to continue supporting our Grady family. Our biggest fundraiser, Mark Your Melody, will be on Friday, March 15, 2024, aboard The Atlantis, 2100 Emmons Avenue, Pier 7, Brooklyn, NY 11235 (dockside event). We would be grateful if you would donate an item, money or gift certificate that we can use as a prize at the event. We will happily list your business in the evening's booklet.

Thank you very much for considering a donation to the Grady PTA. We couldn't do what we do without supporters like you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact PTA President Tami Cherichetti at 917-887-8887.

Sincerely,

The PTA Executive Board of William E. Grady
