This event is for TFP to transition from disaster relief only to community aid/service plus disaster relief. We have found that our volunteers, mostly veteran, have found a new sense of service as well as camaraderie when responding to these calls to action. In the war against PTSD and suicide, these are two key areas for veterans. That sense of purpose and team. Disaster resonse we found wasn't often nough to make a profound impact. Switching to volunteering in their communities in between disasters can help fill tht gap. We are mostly veteran founded and mostly veteran volunteers. By connecting our veteran volunteers and civilian volunteers on the ground and working together, they are building bonds where some veterans may not have had someone in their community, another tool in the battle. So this transition will be a win win for us and the communities. In egards to the communities, we aren't in the market to compete with other charities. If they are already established and have boots on the ground, we want to team up, bring volunteers or help with donations or advertising for them. Not every charity is a 501c, we can help them open some doors. In the areas without help, we would like to be able to start something for that area, having our volunteers run that. Community service can range from food pantries, taking car of the homeless and so on.
