Meading at the Garden is a springtime mead festival to raise awareness and funds for Alta Vista Botanical Gardens.
The 4th Annual Meading at the Garden is back on April 7, 2018. As always, 100% of all proceeds are donated to the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens. Featuring 30 meaderies, cideries, wineries and breweries, Meading at the Garden is the largest mead festival on the west coast. Come join hundreds of other mead enthusiasts, homebrewers, afficianados, and fans for unlimited tasters of the world's oldest fermented beverage -- Mead! There will also be plenty of beer on hand from some of North County's finest breweries. Enjoy food from local restaurants. Listen to live, local bands. Win raffle prizes! Bid in a silent bottle auction. Check out the meadmaking demonstration and honey tasting!

Explore the Viking Area sponsored by the Raiders of the North viking group and The Sons of Norway in Vista. This viking-themed mini-village features a mead hall, axe-throwing, live blacksmithing and leatherworking. And for those worthy, a braggot-style mead with an old-world recipe.
