Description

Parent Promise is the Oklahoma chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America. Our mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect through home-based parent education and support services. We are very proud of our 95% success rate of keeping the families we serve out of DHS services.

Melody Lane is the annual fundraiser for Parent Promise/Prevent Child Abuse Oklahoma. We are excited to announce that we will return to the Skirvin Hilton Hotel on Saturday, August 24, 2024, for the 28th Annual Melody Lane. This year’s event will celebrate Parent Promise/Prevent Child Abuse Oklahoma and its work in building stronger families, healthier children, and brighter futures for over 30 years. The proceeds from this event raise funds for critically important programs that serve Oklahoma families and help raise healthy and resilient children.

Melody Lane is held in memory of past board members, Betty Sue Campbell and Nancy Bell, and the contributions they made to Parent Promise. Betty Sue and Nancy shared our belief that we can make a difference in the lives of children and their families as we continue to work to achieve our mission of strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect.

The name Melody Lane comes from Betty Sue’s love of the piano and melodic sound when played. The event received its name in 1996.
