We are the largest chapter in the state of Delaware with 114 members.  Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). 

Best Buddies chapters are self-sufficient and must gather the funds and supplies needed for our activities, however, this year we lost one of our students with Autism in a house fire.  We are currently trying to raise money for a Buddy Bench and Butterfly Garden in his memory.  We will be using donations from different organizations to raffle off around March.  Fundraising can be difficult in our area as we are a title-one school and are trying to encourage community involvement. 

All extra funds will benefit our best buddies chapter events.  Our events happen once a month to provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities to interact and build friendships with their typical peers.
