Every year in the U.S., 40,000 babies (1 in 110) are born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). Nearly 25% of these tiny babies will need heart surgery or other medical interventions just to survive. Their lives, while often very rich, happy and seemingly normal, are often shadowed by the next cardiology appointment, health issues or even the next heart surgery, for there is often no cure. Mended Little Hearts of Greater Rochester, NY, a
support program for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease, is dedicated to inspiring hope in those who care for the littlest heart patients of all. Mended Little Hearts offers resources and a caring support network as families find answers and move forward to find healing and hope. 

Unfortunately, there are heart babies and kids that pass away while in the hospital. MLH has partnered with Smallprint Rochester to offer the family a memory piece of their child's hand or footprint. This print is then handmade into a beautiful PURE silver charm for the family. It is because of donations to the MLH Bereavement Program that we are able to purchase these gifts for these courageous families.
