Description
While some of us grew up in households that talked about finances, many did not. Even without being told directly, we often felt the financial challenges our families faced. This mirrors the experiences of many youth and families we serve, where financial stress impacts mental health, creating anxiety, insecurity, and added pressures.
The event will include Breakout Sessions for youth, parents, and mentors on the connection between mental health and finances, including managing money on outings, breaking down financial barriers, involving children in healthy financial discussions, and leveraging support networks, with youth-specific content to be announced. We will also provide lunch and a resource fair with community partners.
