Mentor Program Support
Other Event Type for Arizonans for ChildrenApr 15, 2024 9:00 AM to Dec 31, 2024 9:00 AM
Arizonans for Children's mission is to facilitate opportunities that provide effective solutions to alleviate hardships and improve the fragile lives of the abused, abandoned, neglected children in foster care. By supporting us, you can help make our community a better place for all of us to live. Our mentor program serves to match these at-risk youth with valuable volunteer community mentors to give them the advantage of experiencing the wonders of their surroundings and develop life skills. Mentors go to the child's placement, pick them up, and take them out for a couple of hours a week. Most of the time, the children just want to get out of the house to be kids and have fun. Other times they will need academic support, help with life skills, or social skills. This may mean going to the library to do homework, hitting the park to play, or attending an event around town.
We are seeking assistance to support these volunteers by offering them tickets to take the children to local events that they don't have to pay out of their own pocket for. The costs to plan activities weekly can become expensive and may limit those opportunities to the children.
