Description

MeowSquad NYC is 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to reducing the large stray and feral cat population by using Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) techniques, as well as working with the community to find forever homes for cats that can be re-socialized or relocate those who cannot into working safe environments. MeowSquad NYC, comprised solely of volunteers, is seeking donations for our 2nd Annual Halloween Fundraiser on Friday, October 25, at Knights of Columbus, located at 78 Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook, NY.

As always, 100 percent of proceeds will fund MeowSquad NYC’s valuable rescue services, as well as veterinary care for our furry friends in need of medical attention. You can read about MeowSquad’s First Annual Halloween Fundraiser in the Long Island Press and the Queens Chronicle.

New York City is home to tens of thousands of stray cats, and this number continues to rise rapidly. Some of these cats have been abandoned by careless pet owners, while others are born to a life on the streets. No matter what their circumstance, the grim reality is that the majority of stray cats do not live past the age of three. Every day, they struggle to find access to food, shelter and water. Many others die after being struck by a car, ingesting rat poison or freezing to death. And extreme weather conditions, including heat waves and snow storms, make their chances for survival even smaller.

Since its founding in 2019, MeowSquad NYC has rescued more than 1,000 cats via TNR and fostering services. But MeowSquad’s reach goes well beyond Queens. There are approximately 50 volunteers working with MeowSquad across the Tri-State area. And as of today, we have nearly 66,000 followers across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, with audiences from New York, all the way to Australia. You can learn more about MeowSquad NYC and our rescue animals by visiting our website or our social media platforms. Our Instagram and Facebook pages feature a number of success stories of animals rescued through our efforts.

MeowSquad NYC is a small rescue group operating on an incredibly tight budget. Each and every single one of our volunteers is committed to MeowSquad’s mission. The vast majority of our volunteers – myself included – have full-time jobs and dedicate their spare time to help with MeowSquad NYC’s rescue efforts for the love of animals.

We hope that you consider MeowSquad’s donation request for our upcoming fundraiser. Because we are a 501(c)(3), all donations are tax deductible (Tax ID # 84-2533806). All of our donors will be included in our promotional and marketing materials, and the money raised will help fund the valuable services we provide.
