You’ve heard of Christmas in July, well, we’re bringing you Christmas in August! On Saturday, August 10th, come join Santa & all his Elves for a merry & magical night benefitting the MSSLC Volunteer Council. Our Christmas Gala will begin at 6:00 p.m. (doors open @ 5:30 p.m.), First Baptist Church, Christian Life Center in Mexia. Single Candy Cane Ticket prices are $50 per person. Elf Table Sponsors are $300 for a table of eight. Santa Claus Sponsors are $500 and above, which will include a table for eight, your own Santa Treasure Bag, framed certificate with your business or personal name, a photo in our local newspapers, and social media posts. Upper-Level Sponsorships will also be highlighted in a special social media commercial. MSSLC is a residential facility for more than 250 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from throughout the state. The facility serves individuals with mild to moderate impaired cognitive functions as well as those who are medically fragile and the elderly. The mission of the Volunteer Council of the Mexia State Supported Living Center (MSSLC) is to improve the quality of life for its residents by securing volunteer contributions of time, money and goods to enhance person-centered services, environmental conditions and special activities. Proceeds from the Gala will be used to enhance the daily activities for the individuals we serve. We try to make life as normal as possible by ensuring they get to participate in graduations, birthdays, special events, including the Operation Sunshine, Fall and May Fest, as well as supporting our State Choir & Special Olympics teams. Any monetary donations or donations for the Gala’s Live and Silent Auction would be greatly appreciated.
