Mid-Year Fundraiser
Other Event Type for North Side Housing and Supportive ServicesMay 15, 2021 to Jun 30, 2021
North Side Housing's mission is to end homelessness in the lives of individuals by providing housing and comprehensive supportive services. We also strive to eradicate the conditions that cause, contribute to and exacerbate homelessness.
Serving over 700 individuals each year, North Side Housing has been serving men and women experiencing homelessness since 1983. A collaboration between community members and 3 churches in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood sharing a concern for the rising number of Chicagoans experiencing homelessness, led to establishing an overnight shelter, then known as Lakeview Shelter. Operating in a church basement, the aim was to provided food, shelter and a safe environment to those in need. Recognizing the complexities of homelessness, services were expanded and new programs were introduced, evolving the shelter into the comprehensive human services agency that we are today.
A primary focus of our mission at North Side Housing is to help our clients become and remain stably and permanently housed. We aim to prevent and end homelessness because we know when a client is stably housed, they can better focus on other goals that they would like to address, including health, mental health, personal relationships, and employment.
For our mid-year fundraiser, we have a goal of raising $50,000 which will help us fullfill our mission. As part of our fundraising efforts, we seek in-kind donations of raffle prizes to help motivate our donors to give and help us reach our goal. Thank you for your conaideration.
