Description

The Iowa Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) is hosting our MIDWest Conference on May 19-21, 2024. This conference brings together college admissions professionals and high school counselors from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Members of our profession are committed to working with students throughout their college search process and helping them achieve their higher education goals. As an extension of this sense of service, our annual conference includes a fundraising silent auction.

To maximize our financial goal in the silent auction, we are writing today to kindly request a donation from your organization. Any items that would be suitable for a silent auction would greatly be appreciated. This can include, but is not limited to: admission passes, gift cards, apparel, merchandise, etc.

In return for your donation, your organization’s name will be listed as a donor in the conference materials distributed to each attendee and on silent auction signs around the conference.

This year, all proceeds will benefit The Freddy Miranda Access Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to eight Iowa high school seniors, whose high schools and chosen colleges are members of Iowa ACAC. Freddy Miranda worked in higher education in Iowa for more than a decade. He impacted the lives of hundreds of students, while working in Admissions for Central College, Pella, IA, University of Northern Iowa (UNI), Cedar Falls, IA, Iowa State University, Ames, IA, and Indian Hills Community College (IHCC), Ottumwa, IA. He was someone who was giving of his time, cared for others, and had a desire to improve the world. It is our hope to honor Freddy’s memory by choosing scholarship recipients that embody similar qualities and characteristics.
