Description

The Milford United Way Duck Race is back – and we’re hoping you will be able to help us as we prepare for this major fundraising event. The MUW Duck Race consistently draws thousands of people to our Downtown and Milford Harbor areas every year and provides significant reach for your business with the Milford community and beyond.

This year’s Annual Duck Race will be held on June 7, 2025 with a potential 10,000 ducks to be dropped from Fowler Bridge.  Each duck carries a number on the bottom and -- as they flow down the river -- our team members capture the ducks in order as they cross the finish line.  From there, three major prize winners are determined (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), followed by dozens of other smaller prizes.

As the chairperson of this year’s Duck Race, we ask you to consider being a sponsor – whether in the form of a formal sponsorship item (see accompanying sheet) or perhaps providing a gift card for your business to be given as a raffle prize.  Your donation will be recognized on our website and in other ‘day of’ mentions.

It may be hard to believe that nearly ONE THIRD of Milford households are defined as ALICE households (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed).  These are families that, although working, are not able to meet basic household survival requirements and are essentially living paycheck to paycheck.  This annual event provides crucial funding for us as we work to help Milford’s most vulnerable residents.

On behalf of the Milford United Way Duck Race team, I thank you in advance for your support. Please contact the Milford United Way office if you have any questions at (203) 874-6791.

Thank you,

Jennifer Canevari
