Description

I am writing to you on behalf of MUSIC AT THE MISSION to request your support for our annual fundraising event, the 2022 Mission Masquerade, “Bootleggers Ball” which will be held Saturday, September 10, 2021 at the Elks Lodge in Fremont.

As we all know, arts organizations all over the world had to shutter their doors and many of them did not survive during the pandemic. In 2019-2020, Music at the Mission was on track to reach even more students and adults. In addition to the season concert schedule, free “Traffic Jam Concerts” and Elementary School outreach were underway. The organization was midyear in the second year of its new Artists in Schools Residency Program (AIS Program), teaching in concert with the music teachers at Walters Junior High School and Kennedy High School. And then, the nationwide Covid-19 crisis began.

Music at the Mission was among the first performing arts organizations in the Bay Area to pivot to an online platform and provide virtual concerts to its constituency during the 2020-2021 Season. Audience members were able to enjoy a 3 concert season of Music at the Mission performances online.  Each ticket purchased on the Music at the Mission website included a Pre-Concert Talk and ZAP! (Zoom AfterParty) and allowed access to each concert for 48 hours. For 2022, Music at the Mission was able to present 3 live, in-person performances thanks to the donations and sponsorships from our 2021 Mission Masquerade Ball. We expanded our reach to San Leandro music lovers and presented “Together Again” at All Saints Episcopal Church on February 25 followed by a Salon Series afternoon performance in Fremont on February 26. Then we returned to our home base to present “Reflections” on March 11th at Old Mission San Jose in Fremont. What a celebration that was to be back again!! On October 16th we will present the remainder of our 2022 season featuring a stellar group, Quinteto Quilombo who will perform with tango dancers, Count Glover and Inna Yureneva in a brilliant concert of works by Astor Piazzolla! The success of this upcoming 2022 Mission Masquerade Ball is more crucial than ever for Music at the Mission. We hope to return to a full season of live concerts by our world class Music at the Mission Chamber Players and celebrated educational programs that have reached so many students in the community.

We hope you will join us in supporting our commitment to the community through music with ___________________ for the 2022 Mission Masquerade Bootleggers Ball!  Our fundraising goal this year is $25,000 and every dollar counts. We can’t do it without you! This would be a wonderful addition to our silent auction and would enhance the dollars that are raised.

If you would like to participate, please contact us with details on your donation by Friday, August 19. Music at the Mission is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Tax ID#: 26-2206168.  On behalf of our audiences and the community for which we serve, thank you so much for your consideration.
