Description

The MOAA Charities Golf Classic is an annual opportunity to support both of MOAA’s 501(c)3 entities: The MOAA Foundation and the MOAA Scholarship Fund. This event is the perfect opportunity to show your support for military and veteran communities!

This year, the tournament will take place Monday, May 22, 2023, at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farms in Potomac, Maryland. We’re excited to provide access to this famous, exclusive course, while at the same time, supporting the efforts of MOAA’s charities.

Both charities have achieved a Candid (formerly GuideStar) Platinum rating, the highest offered by the nonprofit rating organization, so you can be confident when supporting this event.

Here are a few examples of what your participation for 2023 will support:

  • Emergency financial relief grants for military and veteran families who have endured a natural disaster or other crisis. The MOAA Foundation’s Crisis Relief program exhausted $50,000 in funding within five months of launch.
  • Grants and interest-free loans for military children. Through the MOAA Scholarship Fund, we help students save an average $25,000 in interest payments for their secondary education.
  • Transition support for military spouses, veterans, and active-duty servicemembers. MOAA’s work helps those looking for meaningful employment after service or trying to keep a career on the move as the spouse of a servicemember.

As part of our tournament program, we conduct a raffle, which has on average resulted in an extra $2,000 each year for our charitable efforts. We hope you’ll consider supporting MOAA Charities and our military families by donating items for the raffle to help us exceed our past goals. Organizations also have an opportunity to provide in-kind donations for the tournament's gift bags.

Thank you in advance for helping us support our nation's heroes!
