Moms on the Mountain is a fundraiser for the Nevada City Schools Foundation, which benefits the students of Deer Creek and Seven Hills Schools. As a non-competitive day of scenic beauty, personal challenge, and fun for all women (mothers and non-moms alike), it provides an engaging atmosphere for our community to come together and make a positive impact on the educational experience of students in Nevada City School District. Since its start in 1992, Moms on the Mountain has grown from a small group of friends hiking for a cause, to a favorite annual event with as many as a few hundred hikers taking part, many of which return year after year. We've had 3 generations hiking and raising funds at the same event; and our hikers have ranged in age from 18 to 80+.
