Can you imagine trying to do your homework while gunshots echo outside your window or writing an essay on your phone because you don’t have access to a computer? This is the daily reality for many of our Monster Scholars. At Monster Education Foundation (MEF), we believe in the potential of young people to become Agents of Change in their communities. Founded by a teacher determined to help promising students overcome the obstacles they face, MEF seeks to identify and support youth from some of Chicago’s most underserved neighborhoods, Austin and Englewood, as they pursue higher education and work to make a lasting difference in their communities.

Our mission is simple: to ensure every Monster Scholar graduates from high school, completes a post-secondary education, and makes a positive impact on their community. Through our programs, we provide leadership development, academic support, and guidance to help students prepare for college. Starting from 6th grade, scholars can earn over $2,000 a year towards their scholarship accounts by participating in our programs and maintaining strong academic performance.

Here is where we need your help. Many of our students will be the first in their families to attend college. They dream of becoming doctors, lawyers, teachers, and leaders in their communities. With your support, we can help them achieve those dreams.

We invite you to join us in making a difference by making a financial contribution or donating an item for our silent auction, which will be held on December 7, 2024, at the DoubleTree Hotel (9599 Skokie Blvd., Skokie, IL 60077). Our goal is to raise $80,000, and every dollar raised will go towards scholarship funds, tutoring, college preparation, and unique opportunities like attending cultural events and providing enriching experiences our students might not otherwise have.
