After Prom will take place from 11:00PM – 5 am starting on Saturday, May 18, 2024 (Prom is Saturday, May 18). We hold the event at Blair, so students come directly from Prom and must be in the building by 2 a.m. We provide a safe, fun, music and activity-filled program that includes temporary tattoos, caricature artists, a hypnotist, laser tag, basketball, volleyball and other wholesome activities that demonstrate to students that a lot of fun can be had without alcohol or drugs involved. We promote the program via school announcements and the school newspaper as a safe, NO-COST, alcohol-free experience to celebrate the end of the senior year.

Over 100 parent volunteers join Blair Security staff to man all school exits, roam the hallways, check coats and bags, oversee games, serve food, supervise bathroom visits, and otherwise ensure that participants have no alcohol or drugs on the premises. In addition, two MCPD officers are assigned to the event and they train parent volunteers to look out for drug and alcohol abuse warning signals.
By providing massive volunteer hours throughout the year and during the event to stage After Prom each year, Blair PTSA is safeguarding hundreds of vulnerable kids at a challenging time of year. By now a culture exists where parents and students alike expect and are grateful for this alcohol-free atmosphere; we have a remarkable incident-free success rate stretching back several years.
