Description

On Saturday, October 5, 2019 people will join together at Artesani Park to raise funds, increase awareness and celebrate the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease at our 6th annual Moving Day Boston, A Walk for Parkinson’s.

The Parkinson Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of care for people with Parkinson’s disease through research, education and outreach. To help fund this important mission and promote the importance of movement for Parkinson’s patients, we created Moving Day® – an annual fundraising walk/celebration of movement held in cities across the United States. It is a fun and inspiring event that unites families, friends and communities both large and small in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. Boston held our first Moving Day in 2014 and to date we have already raised over $500,000 to support research and local programs. This celebration of movement will feature a family friendly walk course, a kids area, a caregivers relaxation tent and a special Movement Pavilion featuring yoga, dance, Tai Chi, Pilates, etc. all proven to help manage the symptoms of PD.

Funds for Moving Day support the Boston community by funding new and existing local community resources. The funds will also support national foundation initiatives such as cutting-edge research like our Parkinson’s Outcomes Project, aimed at better treatment and care, our upcoming Genetics Initiative, as well as our free patient and caregiver resources, such as our toll-free Helpline (1-800-4PD-INFO) and the Aware in Care hospital kit.

The Parkinson's Foundation is 501(c)(3) and contribution value is tax deductible.

You are welcome to provide us with marketing materials to accompany any donation you make and/or coupons or other promotional items to include the day of the event.
