"It could be, it might be...It is! A Home Run!" Come Join Us & help us hit it out of the park on Saturday, August 11th at 6:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:30) at the First Baptist Church, Christian Life Center in Mexia, for an All-American Night out.

Enjoy some Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Lemonade.  Single Hit Tickets are $25 per person.  Triple Hit Sponsors are $200 for a table of eight.  Grand Slam Sponsors are $500 and above, which will include a table for eight, your own Ballpark Favor Bag, framed certificate with your business or personal name, a photo in our local newspapers, radio and social media posts.

MSSLC is a residential facility for more than 250 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from throughout the state. The facility serves individuals with mild to moderate impaired cognitive functions as well as those who are medically fragile and the elderly.

The mission of the Volunteer Council of the Mexia State Supported Living Center (MSSLC) is to improve the quality of life for its residents by securing volunteer contributions of time, money and goods to enhance person-centered services, environmental conditions and special activities.

Proceeds from the Gala will be used to enhance the daily activities for the individuals we serve.  We try to make life as normal as possible by ensuring they get to participate in graduations, birthdays, special events, including the Operation Sunshine, Fall and May Fest, as well as supporting our State Choir & Special Olympics teams.

This year funds will be used for the advertisement and business expansion for our downtown General Store.  Our General Store provides vocational training for our individuals such as woodworking, gardening, money handling and customer service skills. Proceeds this year will also go towards improving our services for our All-Faith’s Chapel that has been serving our individuals for more than fifty years now.

Any monetary donations or donations for the Gala’s Live and Silent Auction would be greatly appreciated.  Contributions to Mexia State Supported Living Center Volunteer Council, Inc., a 501 C (3) charitable organization, are tax deductible.
