No time to Siesta – We’re Having a Fiesta!

Grab your Senorita & Sombrero and come Taco ‘Bout a Fiesta and Fun!

On Saturday, August 20th at 6:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:30) at the First Baptist Church, Christian Life Center in Mexia, come join us for a Grande Fiesta benefitting the MSSLC Volunteer Council.

Sombrero Ticket prices are $30 per person.  Pinata Sponsors are $250 for a table of eight.  Mariachi Sponsors are $500 and above; which will include a table for eight, your own Fiesta Favor Bags, framed certificate with your business or personal name, a photo in our local newspapers, and social media posts. Our Gala will once again be highlighted on area radio stations and Waco’s KXXV, Channel 25 for upper level sponsorships.

MSSLC is a residential facility for more than 225 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from throughout the state. The facility serves individuals with mild to moderate impaired cognitive functions as well as those who are medically fragile and the elderly.

The mission of the Volunteer Council of the Mexia State Supported Living Center (MSSLC) is to improve the quality of life for its residents by securing volunteer contributions of time, money and goods to enhance person-centered services, environmental conditions and special activities.

Proceeds from the Gala will be used to enhance the daily activities for the individuals we serve.  We try to make life as normal as possible by ensuring they get to participate in graduations, birthdays, special events, including the Operation Sunshine, Fall and May Fest. This year funds will also be used for the purchase of a greenhouse and business expansion for our downtown General Store.  Our General Store provides vocational training for our individuals such as recycling, woodworking, gardening, money handling and customer service skills as well as generating business for our downtown community.

Any monetary donations or donations for the Gala’s Live and Silent Auction would be greatly appreciated.  Contributions to Mexia State Supported Living Center Volunteer Council, Inc., a 501 C (3) charitable organization, are tax deductible. For your records, our tax identification number is 746062828.
