We started our “My Bedding” Project in February 2022 with the desire to create customized bedding sets for youth who have aged out of foster care, are currently in foster care or have been adopted. As social workers we found the need to create a warm, and loving environment which starts with the services that each youth receives, but also within their physical environment. Our goal is to change the stigma of
foster care by providing quality bedding that each youth and young adult requests and providing the kits directly to them. Overall, the items are always for them. We are requesting your thoughtful donation to help us continue our projects within the community. With $5,000 we can support 200 youth with new customized bedding sets who have a connection to the foster care system. Gift cards, and hygiene products are also appreciated. “My Bedding" Project: Children and youth receive a customized comforter set with a matching
decorative item (i.e., poster, wall décor, and/or decorative pillow, etc.), books, mattress protectors, and a
pillow for their bedroom helping to establish a sense of pride and security. Our process: resource parents,
social workers, and/or youth/young adults submit their request, we purchase the items, and then we deliver directly to the youth/young adults. These items will remain in their care even if they transition into a new home or out of foster care. “It’s for them!”
