Description

A mystery to solve. Wines to experience. Food pairings to enjoy. Games to play. Auction items to win. The Fleet Science Center's annual fundraiser to connect everyone to the power of science.

As a county-wide organization which also runs the most visited museum in Balboa Park, the Fleet Science Center is uniquely positioned to offer science education support to students and teachers recovering from the recent shocks to our educational system. In order to provide resources for this essential programming, the Fleet is planning Mystery at the Museum, a Gala fundraising event featuring a weeklong online silent auction leading up to an in-person event on June 25, 2022.

At the Fleet Science Center, we believe that science provides us with our most powerful tools for understanding. It drives our economic engine, provides insight into the challenges we face, feeds our natural curiosity and fuels our imaginations. Rather than a single moment, the path to a life of science consists of a continuum of events, experiences and exposure. While these experiences are numerous and complex, the Fleet has identified three key spaces where the pathway to science and innovation begins.

Science Starts in places of inspiration where the wonders of the world of science are revealed, curiosity is piqued, and new possibilities are presented.
Science Starts with engagement in learning systems that provide educational opportunities to develop the skills needed for success in science and innovation.
Science Starts with access to a rich, diverse set of community-based science experiences that nurture talent and develop scientific identity.

That is the ultimate goal of our efforts: to provide San Diegans with the inspiration, education and community support necessary to develop their own science and innovation identities and to pursue their science passions.
