2020 Fountain Gate Online Charity Auction

Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center, Inc (NCEC) will hold its first online Fountain Gate Charity Auction Starting on Friday, May 22 at 12:01 am and Ending on Saturday, May 30 at 8:00 pm. There is a minimum of a $20 donation to reserve your bidder's spot.

Did you know that there are more than four million STEM and IT careers available in the United States, yet there are not enough qualified people in the workforce to fill the positions?  The U.S. is demanding that we, as a society, develop a more prepared and qualified workforce.  Many have asked how they can help?

Donated funds will help us inspire and teach preparedness skills to youth and adults in our immediate and surrounding communities. All funding will be spread throughout our various programs in our STEM Academy.  Below are recognition levels available through our corporate sponsorship levels:

 -        Silver - $750, recognition on our web page and on social media links.

-        Gold - $1,500, recognition on our web page, on our social networking/media platforms, and your company logo displayed on our site to advertising for 1 week (May 22 - 30).

-        Platinum - $2,500 recognition on our web page, advertise during the online auction, on our social networking/media platforms.  Also, your company can submit a 60-second advertisement to be played throughout the auction to advertise your business or product.  PLUS, your company will get a brick with your name on it to display at our facility.

Here are some of the ways your contribution will make a difference:

·       $75 funds one youth innovator through Robotics Summer Camp for one week.

·       $80 helps feed a family of four for a week through McCray Outreach Ministries.

·       $600 funds one youth innovator through a full 8 weeks of Robotics Summer Camp.

·       $1,250 covers an IT certification through our Phenomenal Women in STEM program.

Become a sponsor or partner and join our effort to do our part in creating a more sustainable and marketable future workforce for America. With your help, we can lower the education inequality by creating a better educated and thriving community and watch how they will pay it forward exponentially.

 About Us

The Nehemiah Center is a faith-based 501c3 tax-exempt organization. Our programs are designed to build up a person’s character and skill set which will develop self-sufficient and productive citizens in society. Exposure and education to STEM, Robotics and the Information Technology (IT) fields are lacking in at-risk and underserved communities. We also provide a food pantry and community feeding through our subsidiary program McCray Outreach Ministries.

Robotic Exploration Summer Camp & After School Programs

During the summer and after school hours, we provide academic enrichment coupled with STEM and robotics education with NC F.I.R.S.T. Our STEM Academy is geared toward providing adults the education required to pursue careers in the STEM and IT fields.   Through local funding, youth learn engineering and technology. Using STEM-based activities, youth obtain technical skills, engineering and scientific observation while building robots, coding and assembling computers.  Also, youth ages 6-9 and 10-14 participate in annual NC F.I.R.S.T. competitions held in April and November.

McCray Outreach Ministries

In Guilford County, 1 out of 5 children go to bed hungry every night.  Our goal is to help eradicate hunger in our county.  We provide community feedings, clothing giveaways and food pantry services (restarting this spring) for anyone in need.

 Phenomenal Women in STEM

We are also aligning with area businesses and major corporations that will provide internships for our participants to receive hands-on work experience while training. Our goal is to provide the below services at a low-cost or for free to those who qualify for women ages 18 and up. We are working to develop an IT-ready workforce by providing the necessary training in Intro to PC Fundamentals and A+ Certification through CompTIA, the top-ranked company and globally accepted certification program. We provide MOS training and certifications in Microsoft Word and Excel through GTCC.

Apprenticeship Training (Workforce Development & Job Creation)

We have partnered with Guilford County Project Safe Neighborhood Initiative and JCPC. This collaboration is made possible through area agencies. This provides workforce development and hands-on job training for at-risk teens and young adults ages 16-24 in under-served communities.  Careers available:  PC Technician  /  Lawncare Technician  /  Building Maintenance Technician.

Our overall goal is to create qualified and certified candidates and sustainable jobs in the above areas. You can help us fulfill our motto:  “Rebuilding & Restoring Communities & Families”.
