Description

Neighbourhood Night is our annual block party held at the start of summer. As our biggest event of the year, its a great way to get outside, connect with community partners & celebrate our neighbourhood together!

WHO WE ARE
We are a neighbourhood association within the City of Cambrdige in Ontario that provides programing and services to youth and families within the Preston Community.

Our community centers follow a community development model. This means we believe each community is unique and has value. Each community has strengths and assets – strengths and assets the community can use to direct its growth and respond to its needs.

We use recreation and events as our vehicle towards supporting our community development model. We partner with residents, businesses, agencies and community organizations within the neighbourhood to help empower community leadership, capacity and connection. We are committed to ensuring that every person in our neighbourhoods will have a place to call home for health, wellness and community support.

WHY ARE WE RUNNING THIS EVENT
Preston Heights serves one of the lowest family income population within the city of Cambridge. Many of the youth within our community look to the programs we offer as an escape and pathway from the hardships they face at home. PHCG has partnered to provide unique programing such as About The Bounce which is a basketball and community leadership program that sees our youth do community service, resume development, leadership development and skills development. We also have provided over 100 kids with babysitting certifications over the last 6 months. We are able to provide these important life skill based focused proraming because of events such as these as well as genourous donors. With this annual event we inspire community connection between the residents of Preston Heights, and we expect to see 400 residents attend this year's event.
