Organizations Cause: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County provides meaningful mentoring relationships to thousands of young people who face adversity and are in need of an additional consistent and supportive developmental relationship. We intentionally recruit volunteers based on the needs of our community’s well-being and take time to professionally screen, train and support them to create strong, healthy relationships. Our programs and outcomes work hand in hand with the Human Services approach and focus on quality of life, providing individualized mentoring experiences to meet the needs of our young people to enhance their quality of life and contribute to their community. As an organization that does not receive ongoing government funding, we rely heavily on fundraising events, like Bid for Kids' Sake, to allow us to offer these critical mentoring programs at zero cost to young people and their families in our community.

Event Description: Bid for Kids' Sake is an annual online auction that brings in approximately $15,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County. It typically consists of approximately 120-150 items bid on my hundreds of local community members. Every dollar raised from this event supports our youth mentoring programs so we can continue to ignite the power and potential of young people in our community.
