We’ll have live music (featuring local musicians), boiled crawfish with all the fixin’s (corn, potatoes, sausage, etc.), and drinks served up by The Rabbit Hole staff and a raffle. Tickets are $15 per person until June 23rd, then $20 on the day of the event. Select TICKETS to register for this event. Here’s a link to Nik’s Crawfish Boil on Facebook https://fb.me/e/3tHulvykG.

It’s all for a GREAT Cause: Nik’s Wish, whose mission is to BRING HOPE & JOY to young adults (18-24), and their loved ones, fighting cancer. This is done by granting and then fulfilling wishes for these young adult cancer patients who are too old for Make-A-Wish type programs. The Rabbit Hole is donating 10% of their drink proceeds to Nik’s Wish; and all the proceeds from this Crawfish Boil and raffle will go directly to fulfilling Nik Wishes for some very courageous young adults in Alabama, like Jordan and Lauren.

Meet Jordan from Alabama

Before my diagnosis, my life mirrored that of any other nineteen-year-old. I was a college student, studying Emergency Medicine Services with two classes three times a week. I also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at night. In my free time, I attended my boyfriend's football games, hung out with my best friend, went to the gym, and shopped at the Christian Mission.

Unbeknownst to me, seizures occurred while I slept due to a tumor. Surgery changed everything. Initially, I struggled with mobility and speech, but after completing radiation therapy and joyfully ringing the bell four weeks ago, I've made significant progress. Though I'm still working on my speech, it's something to thank God for! I can't drive for six more months, but I now enjoy Dollar General shopping and spending time with loved ones while feeling well.

Jordan's Wish

"Since I was a little girl, Taylor Swift's music has been my passion, providing comfort and inspiration during my darkest times, and attending a concert would be a dream come true, symbolizing hope as I navigate my journey, including upcoming maintenance chemotherapy in the possible summer of 2023. My second wish would be to go to Alaska."

Meet Lauren from Alabama

"I am 19 years old and was on the verge of fulfilling a dream I've had for over nine years. In 2010, after attending my first Alabama football game, I decided to attend the University of Alabama. As the daughter of two military parents, I also had a passion to serve, so I enlisted in the Alabama Air National Guard. I was accepted to the University of Alabama and planned to attend basic training after my fall semester at college. I was eager to begin my journey at Bama!

However, the day before moving from Minnesota to Alabama, I began experiencing extreme back pain. After several emergency room visits, consultations with doctors and specialists, I was admitted to UAB Hospital where, after multiple tests, I received a blood transfusion and a bone marrow biopsy. On September 6, 2019, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Although hearing the word 'cancer' was devastating, it was also a welcome relief to finally have a diagnosis and a team of incredible doctors. I was transferred to Children’s of Alabama and my current team of doctors and nurses have been exceptional. We now have a home in Birmingham."

Lauren's Wish:

"My family and I have been through a lot and I wish for us to take a trip to a tropical destination like Hawaii to relieve stress and break away from our routine."
