New Jersey Junior Thespians is a non-profit organization. It is a chapter of the Educational Theatre Association which sponsors the International Thespian Society (ITS).  It is our mission to promote, strengthen, and advocate for theatre arts education in New Jersey middle schools. ​We offer a community for middle school theatre educators and student Thespians to learn, share, and celebrate theatre.

Every year we offer a festival of workshops from theatre and Broadway professionals that include experiences in music, theatre, dance, and overall wellness for theatre minded students.

This year, due to the pandemic, we will be offering a "virtual festival".  NJ Junior Thes Fest 2021 will be held on May 15, 2021 to bring Junior Thespians from across the state at the middle school level together to celebrate theatre!  We will live stream theatre workshops all day long from theatre and Broadway professionals and hope to celebrate theatre non-stop for 7 hours!

Last year we had over 35 NJ middle schools attend our "virtual event" with over 350 students. We intend that number to increase significantly. We will offer performance and stage craft events and opportunities for critique and ratings by qualified theatre professionals. Students will be encouraged to participate in virtual raffles and events.

Our 2021 program expenses are estimated as follows:

- Stipends for workshop presenters ($250)
- Stipends for Event Judges ($450)
- T-Shirt costs for Jr. Thespian Officers hosting the event ($100)
- Website/event hosting platform fees ($100)
- Mailing and postage fees ($25
- Raffle/give away costs for students ($500)

NOTE: Our organization is run by dedicated volunteers who receive no remuneration for their event planning and execution, therefore, no monies will be used for staff!
