We are again seeking items we can offer at our raffle fundraiser at the 2017 Annual Conference, which will take place at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Long Branch, NJ from May 20th – 22nd. We would appreciate a donation of any kind, which could be used, during our fundraising event or to be used during our silent auction (gift cards/ticket vouchers are great prizes). Your donation will help us achieve our goal for this fundraiser, which is to be able to continue to offer the Camp College program for free.
Camp College is an overnight program, hosted on a NJ college campus each July, which aims to introduce students from traditionally underserved backgrounds to the college admissions process. This includes students who come from low-income families and/or have parents who did not attend college. Specifically, this program is geared towards rising high school seniors who would like some additional support finding the best college matches and successfully completing the application process. Having the students spend two days and one night on a college campus is an invaluable component of our program, as we aim to demystify what it means to go away to college. In addition, students will learn about how to research colleges, fill out applications, and apply for financial aid.
