NLVS Gala
Gala/Party for New Life Volunteering SocietyNov 16, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
New Life Volunteering Society (NLVS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999 with the mission to serve those in need through service, healthcare, and community outreach. In 2003, NLVS opened a free health clinic in the West Rogers Park neighborhood in partnership with the IAMA Charitable Foundation and for the past 20 years has been providing free healthcare services and medications to a diverse population of uninsured Chicagoans.
NLVS has increased its impact on the Chicago community by also providing health education and free health screenings at events such as health fairs across the city. A free tutoring program for children across the Chicagoland area was started in 2001, and NLVS started collaborating with the Pilsen food pantry in 2020 to distribute food and clothes to those in need.
In support of our charitable efforts, NLVS hosts an annual fundraising Gala at which medical students, physicians, medical school faculty, pre-health undergraduates, and community members gather to celebrate the annual successes and growth of the organization. As part of our annual Gala, we host a silent auction, which in the past years has helped us raise a significant portion of our yearly funding. This year, we will be celebrating 25 years of NLVS, and would greatly appreciate any donation in support of our organization.
