Description

It is not often as a parent or guardian that you find a place that will change your child’s life forever.  Cassata Catholic High School is that place.  A place that gives hope to students who feel hopeless or lost with the expectations society brings.

What started in 1975 by two Catholic nuns, Sisters Mary Bonaventure and Mary Fulbright, as an experiment in education for high school dropouts to come back and earn a high school diploma or GED continues today, almost five decades later, as the best-kept secret in Fort Worth.

Most students who enroll at Cassata have had difficulty in traditional schools and face serious challenges to progressing through or graduating from high school. These challenges include poverty; mental/emotional health; academic, behavioral, or physical health issues; neuro-divergent learning differences (such as dyslexia or dyscalculia); bullying; family circumstances, including teenage pregnancy, abuse, or death of a family member. These challenges are high risk factors for a student dropping out of high school.

For almost 50 years and rooted in Catholic values, Cassata is open to everyone with students coming from all faiths, ethnic, racial and socio-economic backgrounds, each with their own life story.  Our focus is to address the whole person not just the academic side; and while the common goal is for each student to graduate successfully, we strive to attend to their spiritual, emotional, and material needs, preparing students for post-secondary success after graduation, thus assisting them to become contributing members of society.

This fully accredited school provides a rigorous curriculum for local students needing a unique, customized environment that prepares them for college and their chosen field. Hundreds of Cassata students have raised their education level, completed their secondary education, and become healthy, independent, and productive citizens.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Cassata will hold its only annual fundraising event, Noche de Gracias (Night of Thanks), hosted by Joe T. Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant. This event is responsible for 10% of Cassata’s annual budget. Proceeds provide critical funds to supplement tuition for students who cannot afford the full cost, improve individualized academic services, and provide technology and curriculum updates.

As a sponsor, you support Cassata as a charitable donation. Cassata Catholic High School is a 501(c)3 organization and meets the criteria for tax-deductible charitable contributions. Tax ID #75-1578757.

We hope you will join us once again at this important event by making a sponsorship donation.
