In 2018, at the age of 8, Cecilia Treviño (Ceci), was diagnosed with a brain tumor at Texas Children’s Hospital Main Campus (TCH). During her hospital stay, she was surprised by the love and care shown by family, friends, and even strangers.  The gifts and surprises she received kept her distracted and helped her to not be afraid or scared of the treatments, and extended hospital stay.

In 2019, Ceci collected over 350 toys for children being treated at TCH during Christmas.  Her goal was to bring a smile to the many children who were being treated at TCH. The following year we doubled in the toys collected.  In 2021, The Ceci Cares Foundation was created and certified as a 501 (C)(3).  Since 2019 to 2023 we have donated over 14,000 toys to TCH Main Camps, TCH Woodlands, TCH Katy, Memorial Herman Pediatrics Hospital, The Sunshine Kids, and this past year we expanded to UTMB John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, TX and UTMB in Clearlake, TX.   Along with toys, this past year, we were able to purchase $3,120 in parking validation tickets and gave those to TCH Main Campus and Memorial Herman Pediatrics Hospital.  We also purchased $2,500 restaurant gift cards to help feed families who are staying in the hospital.   

Because of generous donation last year, our event last year was a huge success, we are asking for your help this year. 

On September 21, 2024, we will be hosting our 3rd fundraising event, “Noche de Loteria” which will be held at the Fellowship Hall at St. Theresa Catholic School in Memorial Park.  We anticipate approximately 120 people to attend the event.
