NOVA Presents An Evening in Paris
Gala/Party for Network of Victim AssistanceApr 04, 2019 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA) is excited to announce our 45th Anniversary Auction and Gala, An Evening in Paris, will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Warrington Country Club. The event is expected to attract more than 350 area supporters, and is NOVA’s main fundraising event of the year. To make this event a success, we are reaching out to community members and businesses, like you, to ask for donated items such as products, services, travel, and cultural or food experiences, to be used in our silent and live auction. The event will feature French-themed food stations, entertainment, live and silent auctions, and a special program. We will also have a VIP reception.
NOVA is Bucks County’s only comprehensive crime victim services agency dedicated to supporting, counseling and empowering victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes and working to prevent and eliminate violence in society through advocacy, training, community education and prevention programs. Founded in 1974, NOVA provides free and confidential services to more than 3,000 crime victims and their family members each year in Bucks County. With offices in Perkasie, Jamison and Fairless Hills, NOVA’s professional staff and trained volunteers provide:
- One-on-one short-term counseling to victims, their family members, and significant others to help them identify and work through thoughts and feelings surrounding their victimization.
- Support groups and group counseling where victims and survivors can feel safe and share their personal experiences, while learning skills to deal with issues related to their victimization.
- Mobile school counseling services in area schools for children who do not have transportation options available to them to meet in one of NOVA’s offices.
- Legal advocacy services for victims as they move through the criminal justice system, including accompaniment by a Legal Advocate to police and district attorney interviews, assistance in preparing a victim impact statement, and on-going support throughout the entire criminal justice process.
- Accompaniment and emotional support for survivors of sexual assault to the emergency room to receive a sexual assault exam by a trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.
- Prevention education programs designed to promote critical thinking skills, respectful interpersonal boundaries, and healthy relationships
- Personal safety programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
All proceeds from An Evening in Paris support NOVA’s programs and services, and we hope that you will participate and use this opportunity to support NOVA’s essential work in our community.
