The last two years have taken a tremendous toll on nurses. Through every covid surge, nurses have been on the frontline, serving our community and caring for others. Our nurses have never stopped putting the patient and community first. They risk their own safety for others and are often a patient’s only source of comfort and companionship during covid restrictions and medical care.  

Nurses are doing more than ever before, and it is essential that we honor the heroism and sacrifice of our nurses. I am writing to ask that you join us in celebrating these healthcare heroes during National Nurses Week, May 6 – May 12, 2022.  

For National Nurses Week, we are organizing a week of catered meals and drawings for prize items and gift cards. However, we can only do this with your support. Please consider making a donation to Jewish Hospital’s Nursing Celebration. Any amount matters and will go to celebrating our heroes. We are also seeking gifts of goods, services, and gift cards. Cash donations can be made by check or online.  

We will have special acknowledgements showcasing the companies that have supported this endeavor. UofL Health is a 501 (c) 3 – nonprofit organization. All donations are charitable contributions and tax deductible to the maximum amount allowable by the IRS. All supporters will receive an acknowledgement letter and tax receipt, recognizing your generosity and contribution.

If you are donating an item or gift card, please provide me with the market value of your gift and company name and contact information. Please also let me know if you require a W-9, or any additional documentation, and I will gladly provide it.
