One Inspired Evening is a magical evening as we bring caring people together to "Keep Dreams Alive" for our children is expected to fill the ballroom.  Kicking off the evening is a cocktail reception, appetizers, and music duo, while much fun is had by all at the incredible silent auction.  Following is a delicious dinner, inspirational speakers and capping off the evening is music and dancing.  Most of all, people leave with lasting memories and an incredible feeling that they just made a huge difference directly in the lives of some incredibly special children, a really good understanidng of what it's like to battle Type 1, and why we do what we do.

We're asking because KWC is a 501c3 children's charity, with the mightiest of messages about becoming brave.  We're here for children and families when their lives are turned upside down because of a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis.  Type 1 is a widely misunderstood, relentless disease, requiring monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 day a week intensive treatment, there is no cure, and it can be deadly.  Can you imagine being a child (or parents of) and forced to battle a life threatening, relentless, disease that demands 4-8 daily shots of insulin, numerous finger sticks to check blood sugar, monitor, and other daily medical procedures, every day for the rest of your life?  It's beyond tough.  Each year, 15,000 children must face this fear.

Being or having a child battling Type 1 is overwhelming, scary and difficult.  We cannot let them feel alone in their fear, shock helplessness, pain and sorrow.  There is so much to learn.  Kids With Courage gives them a BRAVE BOX that is designed to empower, overflowing with critical education, important practical needs, comfort/support items, along with precious resources and essential tools.  Medical teams at mid-western children's hospitals have made Brave Boxes part of their treatment plan to help families grow stronger, and prepare them for their forever fight.
