Description

Our Annual Spring Gala is our largest fundraiser of the year and is held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.   This year we will be honoring Congressman Brad Sherman with the “Enriching Communities Award”, Health Net with the “Enriching Lives Award” and Community Leader Paul Davis with the “Trailblazer Award”.   A silent auction will be held during the cocktail portion of the evening and a live auction during the program.  All auction donors will be recognized in event media as well as a special Gala newsletter which will go out to over 4,000 of our supporters.

ONEgeneration was established in 1978 and has operations at two sites. One site is home to the agency’s Senior Enrichment Center, the other site is home to both the Adult Day Care Center and the Child Care Center. The dual housing of the Adult Day Care Center and Child Care Center provide a unique concept of daily intergenerational interaction between older adults and children.  All of ONEgeneration’s programs strive to positively impact the needs affecting older adults, families and communities in order to meaningfully improve their quality of life and health.

  • Hot Lunch Sites – 200+ hot meals, provided without charge, are distributed five days a week at four local senior centers.
  • Delivered Meals -300+ hot prepared meals are delivered to homebound older adults, at no charge to the recipient.
  • Adult Day Care Program – A medical and social model adult day care program for adults with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, dementias, stroke or cancer with on-site nursing staff and extended hours from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
  • In Home Service – 500+ older adults with disabilities are visited each year for meals, routine household chores, shopping, bathing and transportation services.
  • Senior Enrichment Center – 250-300 older adults receive health education, health screenings, recreation and social programs at the Center, five days a week.
  • Food Services – Distribution of fresh vegetables and fruit are delivered to older adults in need.
  • Referral Services – Referrals and assistance are made for part time employment for older adults, shared housing, mental health counselling, health screening and dental care, podiatry services, dance, music, travel and recreation, health education, chronic disease prevention, caregiver support and many others.
  • Collaborative Local Relationships – ONEgeneration works with local hospitals and health centers to assist older adults who are returning home after a hospital visit.
  • Youth Programs – Although most social services are designed for older adults, ONEgeneration also provides support to teen parents and foster children.
  • Grandparents as Parents (“GAP”) - Through the GAP program, ONEgeneration provides direct services, information and navigation to improve the emotional, physical and financial well-being of 3,500 kinship family members who are raising children of relatives.
