Description

Kindred Kitties is a no-kill, all-volunteer cat rescue. Although we are primarily foster based, we  also opperate a small adoption center in rented space in downtown Kenosha, WI. The space is in a building that is 100+ years old and has all the problems one would associate with a building that age. The facility was not intended for an animal rescue and there are many needs that are not met by the current location including: areas for quarentining sick animals, space for intaking new cats, office space, a room for potential adoptees to interact with cats, areas for cats with special needs, first floor storeage, etc. Kindred Kitties kicked off a Building Fund Campaign in 2019 to allow us to purchase our own facility that is twice the size of the current facility and better meets our needs.

As with so many organizations, all fundraisers were cancelled this year due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, that also means  the campaign for our building fund has been very limited. The online auction is the single event that will help us raise money for the Building Fund. The loss of revenue for the building fund is especially disappointing as a very generous donor is matching up to $95,000 toward money raised for the fund in 2020. This makes the auction extremely important.

Kindred Kitties has over 6,000 Facebook followers as well as hundreds of donors, friends, and voluteers. We expect to have great interest in the online auction which will be beneficial to businesses donating items for the auction.

Note: The Kindred Kitties Adoption Center is temporarily closed due to the recent rioting in downtown Kenosha, WI along with the anticipation that there may be more civil unrest. (The windows to our adoption center were smashed during the riots. Luckily, the cats that were in the Adoption Center had been moved into temporary foster homes the day before). At this time, we are unsure as to when we will move back into the building and for that reason we ask that donations be mailed/shipped to my home address as provided.
