Opening Day is the beginning of our Spring Baseball Season for our Volunteer led Baseball league.   We introduce the board and parade the players around the field to get them excited for the new baseball year.  We invite our sponsors to come and take part as well as see their banners and uniforms on the children.  Volunteers go out and find sponsors for all of the teams that are participating as well as sponsors for players and equipment the league might need.  There are four divisions in Apponaug, Tee-Ball Ages 4-6, Rookie 6-8, Minor division 8-10 and Major Division 10-12 years old. The co-ed teams are formed and parent volunteers are certified through the Babe Ruth Cal Ripken Association to be Coaches.  During this event we also have small raffle prizes that help us earn money for the upcoming season.  100% of the donations we receive go to benefit the league and its players. Our sponsors are given recognition by the league in form of banners, shirts, social media advertisement, plaque for their business as well as website recognition.
