Operation International is a 501c3 non-profit that is secular, non-political, humanitarian organization founded in 1996 by Medhat Allam, MD; Ravi Kothuru, MD; and Robert Mineo, CRNA under the original name of International Surgical Mission Support. The founders aspired to offer free medical/surgical care to children and adults suffering from the lack of basic health care in poor countries. This will be Team Chicago's 3rd year headed back to Africa on our surgical medical mission trip in May 2023. This organization is fully funded through donation. Therefore “Team Chicago” will be hosting a Silent Auction Fundraising event to help raise money for all the medications, supplies, and other equipment we will need during our week-long surgical venture (at least $30,000).
