Description

Hello,

We are reaching out to ask for your support for Orange Ribbons for Jaime’s (“ORFJ'') 2022 Auction-A-Thon. ORFJ is a 501(C)(3) organization which was formed by Fred and Jennifer Guttenberg, following the tragic loss of their daughter in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, FL. We are requesting a donation of a gift card or gift certificate for our upcoming fundraiser.

By way of background, ORFJ was created to honor Jaime by supporting causes that were important to her during her lifetime, but also causes that deal with the way her life was tragically cut short. Last year, the organization raised $90,000 through its annual fundraiser, the ORFJ Virtual Dance-A-Thon, and to date has awarded more than 40 college scholarships to qualified and deserving students in Jaime Guttenberg’s name.

ORFJ has also supported many organizations that Jaime was involved with including The Friendship Journey, where she volunteered with those with special needs, The Humane Society of Broward County, in honor of their therapy dog program, Ballet and Books, to help underprivileged kids through a combination of dance and literacy, and The Paley Institute, at which Jaime wanted to work in the future as a physical therapist with children who have limb differences.

This past year, the Guttenbergs began a new initiative - the Orange Ribbons Family Tree & Resource Program, which is dedicated to helping families affected by gun violence. Most recently, they were able to make a donation of $25,000 to World Central Kitchen to help feed loved ones directly affected by the gun violence tragedies in Buffalo & Uvalde. Through the support of our generous donors, ORFJ continues to do its work to impact those who need it most, but we can’t do it without you.

Proceeds raised through our fundraisers will be used to support our mission and causes. In exchange for your participation, we will promote your company to our database through our social media channels, bi-monthly newsletter, as well as recognition on our website and all promotional materials.

We hope we can count on your support!  Your donation would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, if you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Best Regards,

Carol Chenkin
