Opportunity Resource Services - Upward Bound proudly serves 350–400 first-generation and/or economically disadvantaged high school students (grades 9–12) from the rural areas of Johnson County and the urban communities of Dallas and Tarrant Counties. Our mission is to guide students on their journey to higher education through academic mentoring, tutoring, college and career readiness support, and personal development. We provide daily after-school programs at our partner schools and field trips during the academic year—all completely free to our students. Each summer, we host a free 6-week program on a college campus where students immerse themselves in college-like classes, workshops, field trips, and team-building activities. We also provide meals, transportation, and the opportunity to experience life as a college student, with a strong focus on academics, social-emotional growth, and leadership. To celebrate our students’ achievements and keep them motivated, we host an annual event called Hype Bingo—a fun, high-energy celebration where students can win prizes that support their future college experiences, such as dorm room essentials and other valuable resources and opportunities. We are currently seeking donations for this event to help reward our students for their hard work and commitment. Your contribution will directly impact a student’s ability to thrive in their next chapter and continue striving for success.
