Description

We are happy to announce the 13th annual Our Promise to Nicholas (OPTN) Event- INDOOR MAZE to the Egg Hunt and Easter Bunny is scheduled for Saturday April 16, 2022 at the NH Sportsplex in Bedford, New Hampshire.

This year families will hop along the bunny footprints path in a one-way direction through the NH Sportsplex to the Egg Hunt and photos with the Easter Bunny. Sponsorship tables will be along the bunny path across two indoor soccer fields. Families can stop at each sponsorship table to find a "hidden egg". Music, kids games, an obstacle course, photos with other mascots and a bunny craft. Face coverings will be required for all guests, sponsors and voluntueers over the age of two. We will be following the Walt Disney World Guidelinesfor covid percautions.

Our Promse to Nicholas Foundation named after Nicholas Dainiak of Bedford, NH. OPTN was established in 2009 as a non-profit charitable foundation. At age five, Nicholas was diagnosed with a rare genetic brain disorder called Batten Disease. This disease affects an estimated two to four children out of 100,000 born in the United States. Batten causes seizures, blindness, demenia, immobility and eventually requireds twenty-four hour care. The cruel part of this disease is that these children are vibrant and healthy until it takes its course around the age of four. Eventually Batten takes over the brain, causing a child to die between the age of eight and tweleve.

Sadly, Nicholas lost his battle to Batten on May 9, 2014 on his 11th birthday. In keeping our promise to Nicholas, we continue to work toward a cure for this childhood disease.

Please consider making a tax-deductable donation to the OPTN INDOOR Maze to the Egg Hunt and Easter Bunny. Your support will have an influence in the lives of children with Batten Disease and help us keep our promise to this important and worthwhile cause.
