Description

Ovation 2025: A Celebration of the Arts, a fundraiser for the Perkinson Center for the Arts & Education, is scheduled this year for Saturday, April 12, 2025, 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Perkinson Center in Chester. This year, we are delighted to announce that we will honor the exuberant spirit and extraordinary talent of singer, dancer, and actress Rita Moreno. She is the winner of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT) awards and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2004 and Kennedy Center Honors in 2015, a few among the many honoring her 80-year career.  Born in Puerto Rico as Rosa Dolores Alverio Marcano and nicknamed “Rosita”, her talents have been showcased in many productions, including her break-out role as Anita in West Side Story, both stage and film.

We will have a Puerto Rican themed lunch and a performance from the Latin Ballet of Virginia.  The evening will include raffles and silent auction items.
