Each year, the Oxnard Union Teacher Librarians host a series of poetry workshops at their school sites with Fernando Salinas, Master Poet-Teacher for California Poets in the Schools. The culminating activity is the Oxnard Union Poetry Slam, bringing together talented poets to showcase their creativity and passion for poetry. Our eighth annual Poetry Slam will be held on May 23, 2024, at Oxnard High School. The Slam is streamed live on our YouTube Channel. (Check out the Poetry Page on our website!)

We are reaching out to businesses to donate prizes for the participants and winners of the Poetry Slam. We are open to any type of donation. Some examples of prizes that have been donated in the past include gift certificates, merchandise, and even scholarships. 

In return for your donation, we would happily acknowledge your business as a sponsor of the Oxnard Union Poetry Slam. This would include recognition during the award ceremony, in our social media, and on our website. It is our goal to ensure that your generosity is recognized and appreciated by our community.
