We are the Stock Show Supporters of Panola, Inc. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that consists of a small group of roughly 20 adult members and their families. We started this group two years ago with a vision to support 4H and FFA stock show kids here in Panola County. We believe supporting these kids are vital to our community. When 4H and FFA students have animal projects, they gain life skills that foster leadership, respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, caring, honesty, and citizenship. These stock show kids go on to become adults who are a vital part of their community and workforce, with a large sense of civic responsibility. All because they were a stock show kid!

Our mission is to provide an equal opportunity show experience for the youth of Panola County. The organization works hand in hand with community leaders to provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships and sponsorships to area showmen who are involved in the stock show industry.  We strive to provide learning situations for the development of agricultural education opportunities, leadership, responsibility, and effective citizenship.  It is our goal to serve our community by spreading optimism and opportunity to the youth of Panola County. 

In two short years, we have been able to watch our dreams for our organization and our mission come to life. Without our sponsors, we could have never achieved so much. We have held two jackpot livestock shows, three cattle showmanship clinics, one lamb showmanship clinic, and this past spring we were able to award two scholarships to seniors. We also support and give back to the local 4H and FFA kids at the Panola County Jr. Livestock Show! And we hope to continue to GROW and give back even MORE! 

With that said, we have exciting news! We are planning our 3rd Annual Panola Christmas Classic Jackpot Show to be held on December 9-10, 2023 at the Panola County Expo Hall. Local families, and families from other towns near and far come to attend. On Saturday, kids will exhibit their beef heifers, steers, goats and/or lambs. On Sunday, kids will exhibit their swine projects. We have three different judges coming, who each specialize in the species they will be judging. We are excited to give these kids an opportunity to hear feedback on their animals from our judges. A judge’s perspective can help these kids better understand their animal, and understand what they can do to maximize its potential. 4H and FFA members who are preparing their animals for a Texas Major Livestock Show or their local County Fair can also utilize our show as a way to gain more experience. It is a great chance for kids to get "ring time" with their animals, which is an invaluable experience because it gets the animal and the kid comfortable in the show ring. 

With less than 2% of our nation involved in production agriculture, a true understanding of where food comes from and how it’s raised is now a privilege rather than an expectation. 4H and FFA kids who raise and show livestock realize the responsibility and hard work that goes into producing food, a quality that is extremely valuable to our industry today. And this type of responsibility is not as much taught, as it is instilled. This is just another reason why we believe in supporting these kids 100%!

We also have a great line-up of prizes at our show. It is our goal to give away 74 belt buckles, 36 banners, 10 wooden cutouts, 10 chairs with leather patches, and wooden ornaments to all class winners. Through this, sportsmanship is learned. The kids learn how to be a humble winner, and a gracious loser. Lessons of both winning and losing help prepare these kids for the ups and downs of life. We depend heavily on our sponsors for us to be able to purchase prizes for our jackpot show. Our sponsors make such an impact, and help make our goals of purchasing prizes possible. 

New this year, we will also be adding a Silent Auction at our show. We will be utilizing 100% of all funds collected from the Silent Auction to provide scholarships to seniors! This will allow us to give back even more to seniors this spring. Please consider supporting our event by donating towards our Silent Auction. You may donate gift certificates, vouchers, merchandise, etc.
